Marlenne Chavez joined Villacorta Law in 2016, and works as a legal assistant/ receptionist. She is bilingual in Spanish/English. She holds in Associate in Applied Science in paralegal studies ABA. She has a passion for immigration law because she believes that families should be able to stay together. She likes to spend time with family and friends in her free time.
Karen Ramirez was born in Mexico. She holds an American Bar Association approved Paralegal certificate. She is passionate for immigration law as she first hand knows the struggles immigrants face.
Julia joined the Villacorta Law team in August 2017. She grew up in California in a multicultural community, and moved to Washington 7 years ago to study Psychology and Hispanic Studies at the University of Puget Sound. She has a passion for justice and helping overlooked communities, leading her to such ventures as volunteering in a Peruvian orphanage, working in a pilot program for young juvenile offenders at a Residential Reentry Center, and finally to Villacorta Law. When not at the office, Julia enjoys playing soccer and spending quality time with her goofy Pit Bull/Rottweiler/Yoda mix Dotty.
Jesus Lopez is bilingual and a native Spanish-speaker. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus on Latin America from the University of Washington. Jesus joined Villacorta Law in February 2018, but has worked in immigration law since April 2010. He greatly enjoys helping immigrants navigate the complex processes of coming to and being allowed to stay in the U.S. Many of Jesus' family members have gone through the same processes that he assists in daily and he takes pride in having the privilege of making people's lives better.
Gloria is from Mexico, where she worked as an attorney for seven years. Gloria started working in immigration law in Tacoma in 2015. She loves helping people through her work at Villacorta Law, and believes that we can do a lot for the community through this work.
Nallely Reyes became a part of the Villacorta Law team in October 2017. She studied economics and finance at Central Washington University but found her true passion while being a receptionist here at our office. She is now one of our bilingual legal assistants that is dedicated to helping change the lives of people. She spends most of her free time with her family, her friends, and with her Belgian Malinois, Sammy.
Marlina grew up in Hawaii and Washington and completed the paralegal program at TCC in 2016. She finds work in immigration to be especially meaningful because her mother immigrated from Japan in the 60's. Having worked in nursing for a number of years, she finds nothing more satisfying than to serve the community. Marlina speaks Japanese, loves animals of all kinds, and has three dogs.
